DOUGLAS JOHN MULDER, age 73 of Worthington, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his home. He was born May 1, 1950, in Grand Rapids, MI, to John and Clara Mulder of Jenison, MI. After Clara passed away from cancer, John married Stella (Dykstra) Mulder. Later, the family moved to Florida. Doug graduated from Lake Worth High School in Lake Worth, FL. He served his country in the United States Navy Seabee’s.
Doug married Judy Tiddens on December 19, 1969, in Lake Worth, FL. The couple lived in Lantana, FL where he was a contractor. They moved to Worthington in 2019.
He was a former member of the Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He sang in the choir and praise team. He was a current member of Solid Rock Assembly Church in Worthington. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming and scuba diving.
Doug is survived by his wife, Judy Mulder, Worthington; three sons, Mike (Natalie) Mulder, Worthington; Dan Mulder, West Palm Beach, FL; and Tom Mulder, Corpus Christie, TX; five grandchildren, Will Mulder, Abigail (Erik) Landgaard, Andrew Mulder, Kaitlyn Mulder and Brody Mulder; three siblings, Kary Draheim, Grand Rapids, MI; Shirley (Don) Scott, Byrdstown, TN; and Sandie (Randy) Campbell, Alpine, TN; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was very loved by family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
A time of fellowship will be from 3-5 pm, Sunday, April 21, at Solid Rock Assembly Church in Worthington; fellowship also a half hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorial service will be 10 am Monday at Solid Rock Assembly Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Scott Peterson. Burial with full military honors will be at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.
